Coal industry has been the leading branch since the 19th century. Nowadays it experiences a very difficult time. There are a lot of mines here and many of them are expected to be closed. A great chemical company is situated in Gorlovka. It's known as Stirol. There are a lot of places of interest here. Museums, picture galleries are visited by people. Children from all parts of Donetsk region arrive in the city to see interesting performances in the circus. People who like pop music can enjoy concerts of their favorite singers in the palace of youths. Specialists in various fields are being trained at the Gorlovka Pedagogical Institute for foreign Languages, Technical Institute, Medical college. In summer green trees and flowers, buildings make the city wonderful and attractive.
